England U17 and U19 squads announced for KNKV Challenge 2017

England Korfball’s U17 and U19 squads have accepted an invitation from the Dutch Korfball association, Koninklijk Nederlands Korfbalverbond (KNKV), to participate in the prestigious Korfball Challenge tournament later this year.

The Korfball Challenge is now an annual fixture on the International korfball calendar, it’s a show piece high level event held at TopSportCentrum, Rotterdam.

The senior competition features clubs from the Dutch Korfbal League who compete alongside a number of National squads. The senior competition also normally includes an all-star team, the ‘KNKV Tulips’.

Our under-17 squad and management team will travel to Rotterdam on Boxing day and play on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th December.

The under-19 squad will travel on Thursday 28th for their two day tournament which will be played on 29th and 30th December.

ENGLAND UNDER 17

Females: Kirsty ALDRIDGE (KV), Annie BOYD (KV), Adele MITCHELL (Norwich Knights), Alix RICHARDSON (Tornadoes), Daisy TIGHE (Harrow Vultrix) and Maeve TURNEY (Norwich Knights).

Males: Shane BUCKLAND (Tornadoes), Luca BUTTINGER (Harrow Vultrix), Jack CHAMBERS (Bearsted), Joshua DAWES (Cambridge Tigers), Alf TIMNEY (Cambridge City) and Declan WHITE (Tornadoes).

ENGLAND UNDER 19

Females: Mollie ABERY (Norwich Knights), Annie BOYD (KV), Adele MITCHELL (Norwich Knights), Laura MORRIS (Birmingham City), Eleanor PARKER (Tornadoes) and Elise SPARKS (Tornadoes).

Males: Will ALDERTON (KV), Shane BUCKLAND (Tornadoes), Zach CATTERALL (Tornadoes), Luke COYTE-MCKENZIE (Norwich Knights), Jacob DAWES (Tornadoes) and Flynn PICOT (KV).
