Selection held for England youth squads

England Korfball returned to the Whitgift Sports Centre in Croydon on Saturday (17 May) for the first in a series of selection events for the England International youth squads.

Over 70 of England’s brightest and most talented youth players took part in the trial.

The England youth squad coaches and management teams were assisted on the day by a number of coaches, Ean Irwin (Nomads Korfball Club), Azzy Sieber (Bearsted Korfball Club) and Steph Allen (Trojans Korfball Club) all of whom are current players in the England Korfball Premier League – the highest level competition in England.

Former England Head Coach, Dave Buckland, who recently had to step down from the senior position and England senior assistant coach, Kevin Moss, were also on hand throughout the day to take the players through their paces.

The trial on Saturday is only one part of the selection process – certain England Korfball coaches will also be at National Youth Day (29 June 2014) and Kent inter area (05 July 2014) watching and talking to players.
