Korfball4 demonstrated by England Youth squads

Last weekend at the European Championships four team warm up tournament hosted by England Korfball in Croydon, South London a number of the England youth squads were also in action.

On both Saturday and Sunday the England youth squads played a number of short demonstration matches of the new compact version of korfball; Korfball4.

In this format there are mixed teams of four players on each team, playing on a smaller pitch without a halfway line.

For many of the players it was their first experience of playing in front of a crowd.

Kirsty Aldridge “I had a lot of fun participating in the demonstration and I felt very proud and honoured to be able to wear the England shirt”

Rhys Dyer-Oosterling: “I was very excited before the matches and I enjoyed the whole experience thoroughly. I felt really proud to wear the England shirt as this is what I want to do”

Annies Boyd said “I felt really proud to wear my England shirt and enjoyed the experience of playing in front of adult teams”

Jacob Dawes said ‘It was great to be playing in front talented international seniors many who have been in our situation themselves.’

Josh Dawes “I was a bit nervous at first but the support was great and I really enjoyed the experience”

Finally, Sophie Parker said “I liked playing for England is was enjoyable and fun. I was nervous at the start but once i got used to playing I played better I think!”
