England squad selected for World Championships

England senior Head Coach Dave Buckland has selected a squad of 16 for this autumn’s World Championships finals.

 

There are senior squad debuts for Claire Dique (Bec) and Owen Bailey (Tornadoes).

 

“Both have come through the youth ranks and are both outstanding players” said coach Buckland.

 

Owen Bailey, 20, said “It’s nice to be recognised after years of working my way through the various age groups.  I am looking forward to challenging myself at the highest level”

Natasha Dawson (KZ) also returns to the squad after missing last years European Championships.

 

Speaking about the tournament Dawson said “’I’m really looking forward to the World Champs and being back part of the England squad which has a good combination of experienced players and younger enthusiastic, up and coming talent. Has the making for an exciting tournament.”

The 10th IKF World Korfball Championships will be played between Friday 30th October and Sunday 8th November 2015 in Belgium.

 

England’s opening match will be against Portugal on 30th October.
