England Korfball’s Under 23 squad headed to the annual World Youth Cup last weekend with very little preparation and a recently appointed U21 Coach, Peter Teague. It was hoped that this would be the first combination England Korfball would see for Teague and Senior Coach Dave Buckland, but the short notice did not allow Buckland to reschedule personal appointments.
The tournament was not looking like a smooth encounter for coach Teague as he struggled to make a selection due to injury, illness and ever present academic concerns of this age group. Added to this, a very important U19 training weekend, hosting Belgian region Flanders, further limited available players.

In the same week that the Senior England Coach has been announced, the EKA are also pleased to be able to announce the appointment of Peter Teague, current Junior Head Coach, to the position of U21 England Korfball Coach for the U21 World cup in May.

Part of the remit of the grant secured by England Korfball Internationals included Coaching Clinics to assist with the delivery of a consistent approach to korfball training in England. Bromley Korfball Club were the first to step up and take advantage of this new development.
