On Saturday 13th February players from the England Senior Korfball Squad were on hand to participate at this inaugural England Korfball Coaching Clinic, run by England Senior Head Coach Colin Boys with his assistant Steve Johnson. For the younger players Coach Berry had requested an assessment of shooting and passing skills, with some focus on defending well. For his older players, some further acquisition of shooting skills with a priority on organisation in attack.
The session began with the England Seniors and Bromley Juniors warming up together before splitting up onto posts in their relevant age groups, with each group of young players being joined by 3 or 4 Senior England players, for shooting practice. The youngest players made great progress with their own technique while the more experienced young players improved some technical aspects. The youngsters really enjoyed the close coaching attention from the senior players, and the competitive aspects in the training added another level of enjoyment.
