Trojans lift the England Korfball Cup

It has been a great season for London club Trojans, who saw their first team crowned Haven Sports Korfball League Champions last weekend, followed by their second team being crowned England Korfball Cup winners, this weekend.

30 teams started out at the beginning of the season, eager to do battle against opposition from across the length and breadth of the country. There were some surprise results along the way, and with the draw for each round being random, there was no knowing who would end up in the semi-finals and final.

Eventually, 4 teams won through. Nottingham had two Haven League teams to beat in the earlier rounds; first overcoming Mitcham by a single goal, followed by an impressive 18-11 win over Bec to secure a coveted semi-final place.

Trojans 2 also won their Round 2 game by a single goal, over Kent side Kwiek before easing through the quarter finals with a 15-10 win over fellow London League side Bec 2 who had beaten them twice in the regular league season.
