With Trojans, Nottingham and Mitcham now looking confident of a place in the end of season play-offs, and Norwich Knights now certain to finish bottom, the battle for the 4th spot intensifies, with Bec, Kwiek, Kingfishers and Nomads all very much still in the running. Its going to be a thrilling end to the regular season.
The previous match up between Bec and Kingfishers had ended in a draw on the opening day of the Haven Sports Korfball League back in October. Since then both teams have enjoyed mixed fortunes, with Bec failing to find consistent form and Kingfishers' strong start fading due to injuries and the departure of their top scorer Hidde De Jaeger. For both teams a win here was essential to keep their aims of a top 4 finish alive.
