Summer tournament discipline

You are advised that at tournaments it is normally expected that the EKA Disciplinary guidelines are followed.

However, since summer club and area tournaments are generally of a recreational nature, it may seem inappropriate for yellow card offences committed at such tournaments to become part of a player's overall EKA record. However, red cards issued for serious misconduct should be reported to the EKA via Fixtureslive.

In order to make it clear that yellow cards will not form part of the EKA's player records (or the normal accompanying fines imposed), you are requested to have a disclaimer on your entry form stating that "yellow and red cards will be dealt with by the Tournament Disciplinary Committee and, with the exception of red cards for serious misconduct, shall not form part of the EKA's disciplinary procedures".

Please refer to the guidance set out under 'Tournament Discipline' that is used by the EKA at its tournaments (U23 Champs, National Youth Day, Counties etc). It is hoped that tournament organisers could use this as a basis for their disciplinary decisions (with the exception of clauses 7 or 8 as there would be no reporting back to the EKA except for red cards issued for serious misconduct - i.e. with no previous yellow card in the match).
