New CRB Procedures

The EKA now has a new structure for CRB checks to be carried out for voluntary roles with English Korfball. Individuals requiring a CRB check for their role within Korfball can now apply on-line using a specialised CRB checking company (TMGCRB). TMGCRB works with many sports within the UK to process their applications. The procedure is simple, easy to use, and has proven quicker than the paper-based system.

EKA CRB Checks document

Once an application has been completed on-line, the applicant's identity documents need to be checked in a face to face meeting by a verifier. This can be done (for an additional charge) at the post office. The prefered method though is for area associations to nominate one or more "verifiers" who can check the documents and authorise the application to proceed.

EMKA has already sucessfully piloted his scheme and has seen their first applications returned.

A verifier needs to be someone nominated by an area association, who is willing and able to meet applicants to check their documents. They do not need a CRB themselves, but they should be a thorough and responsible adult within the area association (your area CPO might be a good option).

Area Associations should send the name, email address and home address of the person (persons) they wish to nominate as verifiers to Anna Jeanes (chair@englandkorfball.co.uk) stating their role (if any) within the area association.
